About the Author
Virtual Assistant Forums was created in 2007 as I discovered the virtual assistant profession for the first time and went in search of a friendly, encouraging community with REAL information (no work at home scams, get rich quick schemes, or $4/hr 'data entry jobs' allowed! Did you know that the average professional, skilled VA charges at least $35/hr?). I was looking for a place where I could network and collaborate with like-minded people and learn more about being a successful VA. Finding the need of such a site, I created, curated, and continue to develop Virtual Assistant Forums. As my own virtual assistance business has grown and flourished over the years, so has this amazing community of fellow VAs. The site, although small at the beginning, served it's purpose immediately and quickly grew into what it is today: an active, welcoming, diverse, and dynamic community of success-seekers, thinkers, and small business owners from all over the world. I continue to grow and develop VAF (as well as other useful virtual assistant industry resources) because there is nothing more gratifying than helping other people access the information, resources, support, and encouragement they need to start and run a successful home-based virtual assistant business. My business would have grown faster if I had read this before starting

Dec 1, 2012 will be my fourth year in business however I didn't realize this ebook existed until a few short weeks ago. I really came across it by chance, primarily, because a good number of people have recently been asking me how to get started as a VA and I decided to see what was out here on Amazon.
Before I recommended the book to those who have been asking me for guidance I thought I should buy and read it myself to see if it was "worth it".
I haven't even reviewed all of the worksheets,forms, etc. that are included with the package - I have only read the ebook itself....and without a doubt it's worth every penny. I wish I had known about it many years ago.
Over the course of the past four years I've made a lot of mistakes, many that would have possibly been avoided had I read the book before starting.
Here are just a few examples of things I would have done differently:
*I would have chosen a different business name and URL
*Using contracts for everyone and including some type of penalty for late payments - while I've gotten much better there are still a number of long-term clients that are still without a contract
*Identifying what I really love doing and ONLY working with those types of clients
*Built in wording on annual increases into my contract
*Set up different pricing structures/packages for different types of clients
Of course, as they say, hindsight is always 20/20. My first year of business was challenging, to say the very least, I probably could have spent my time in a much better way knowing some of what I know now. By year three I hit 6 figures and could have very well accomplished that by year two, if I had known and implemented some of the items addressed in the ebook.
I take my business very seriously because I'm a single mom and full support for my child rests on my shoulders. Whether you decide you want to pursue being a Virtual Assistant on a full time or part time basis I'd highly recommend you invest in this book and read it several times to absorb all there is within it.

A must-have for anyone thinking of starting a Virtual Assistant business

This book is a comprehensive how-to manual and workbook to get your virtual assistant business off the ground and to help your business to thrive over time. I've been a VA for 9 years and have taught a community college course (over 3 years) on how to create a virtual assistant business plan. "Become a Virtual Assistant - The Virtual Assistant Forums Guide to Success" covers the nuts and bolts of creating an entrepreneurship. It has exercises to help you think about the tough questions that need answering before starting a business. It discusses legal, ethical, tax, and contractual issues that you need to know as well as practical issues like invoicing and business policies. Moreover, it touches on how to have a great relationship with clients. Thankfully, marketing is a large portion of the book to help VAs figure out the essential aspects of "how to get clients." The book comes with a plethora of worksheets, business documents, and sample contracts too. The only other component necessary for a successful VA practice is a place where you can go for support on your VA journey, and the Virtual Assistant Forums website is an ideal place for that. I highly recommend this book.

The Become a Virtual Assistant - The Virtual Assistant Forums Guide to Success is a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate, easy-to-read eBook that is 'chock full' of the most relevant information a virtual assistant will ever need to get started.
Interestingly, the e-Book is not simply a 'how-to'. While reading the e-Book, I felt as if a seasoned VA was leaning over my shoulder offering sage advice and tips to successfully grow the business after start-up. It is THAT well-written!
Every conceivable scenario, I can think of, which a VA will confront in the up-start stage is discussed in this e-Book. No stone is left unturned.
Opening a virtual assistant business can be 'scary'...not knowing what documents to use, how to market, how to find clients, etc. "Become a Virtual Assistant" is written by a seasoned virtual assistant who is a leader in the industry. Ms. Alipour, a successful entrepreneur-partner herself, operates and leads Virtual Assistant Forums. She knows first hand what VAs NEED to know and has put this knowledge to pen in this fantastic e-Book.
As a VA myself, I only wish I had this reference available when I first opened my business. I can only imagine the many hours, no, the days, I would have saved if this material had been in one place.
If you are a VA...I highly encourage you to make the investment in this e-Book. I'm in business now 6 years and I still refer to this e-Book for the exceptional reference materials offered.
